    Anyone familiar with FolderShare?
It is Microsoft's new acquisition that allows you to share folders, by setting up a peer to peer network.
Installation of the app is easy, but once installed, you need to set up the folder(s) that you want to share. How that is done is not explained at all. Obviously, I can select the folder for sharing, but what do I do with it at that point so that it CAN be shared?? Where do I send it?

Thank you. I would have never found the wizard as I do not intend or need to share the files with others, only want to be able to work between home and office without my synching 3 drives minimum.
Is something wrong with my installation or can you get to the wizard only via the "Friends" route?
    Anyway, thanks again.

    More on FolderShare

I hope I'm wrong, but am I right in that a library you are trying to access must be in a computer that is powered up? Seems to me if that is true, the utility of this product is not that great. I can't leave my machines on all day at home and work.
Tell me I'm wrong and the shared folder(s) are in cyberspace waiting for me to work on them as I want to. As I understand it, this is really the same as a LAN except the computers can be physically quite some distance apart. Bummer.

Can I use FolderShare to share files on networked drives?
I was hoping possible router attached NAS for office Lan and a NAS at home Lan would be accessible, but it would appear at this time it is not. If it was, you could have your home / work computers backup to their local NAS and you could poll either remote NAS via FolderShare. Would be nice local backup strategy with built in remote share/view.

Possible you could consider xDrive - Free Online Storage You could set up separate accounts for each location. Have each location automatically backup up selected folders/files. You now have a total of 10GB (Office account + Home account -- or one account if it works easier) of OnLine storage accessible via Internet. I have been using this limitedly to create a offsite repository for my digital family pictures. I have autostart disable because I prefer manually updating the files. When allowed to run as a autostart service with selected backup folders, everything is automatic. You now have "shared folder(s) in cyberspace waiting for me to work on them as I want to ".
