Just after I installed SP2 (why now so late is a long story) 2 weeks ago, every time I bootup I get a message to register my XP-Home.

But when I click on it, an error message appears saying my "local scripting" is turned off.

My XP is legit and has been registered since day 1. Now I have 17 days left.
I have gone into my profile and turned on or set to prompt all references that I can find to scripting, local or otherwise. But no difference.

    What am I missing?

This happens if Active Scripting is disabled for the My Computer zone.

    To enable:

    1. Select Start > Run and type regedit, click OK
    2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0
    3. Double-click the value 1400 and set it's Value data to 0
    4. Close registry editor

    Restart Windows.
