    Hello.

I'm using Netscape 6.2.3 and I would like to know if someone in this forum could have solutions to a few annoying things I encourter with this browser :

    1) I would like, when I launch Netscape or when I open a new Window, that it uses all my screen, and not only the top-left quarter. So, each time I open a window, I have to click on the little button top-right to make it full size.

    2) I emptyed the friggin "My Sidebar" but it is always there in new windows and plus it takes 1/4 of the Netscape Window. So, each time a window opens, I have to click on the My
Sidebar or to hit F9 to destroy it.

    3) Each time a window opens, I have the personnal toolbar and component tool bar displayed, but, like "My Sidebar ", they take place on my screen and I dont care about them, so I have to deselect them in the display settings menu.

As you can see, this brand new browser makes me have some trouble to display a webpage properly, which is unbelievable since it's its main aim. I mean, why have a $50000 car with airbags for nuts if you got to turn off radio, climatization, glass waching system and post-combustion each time you enter it ? People who created this browser make no sense. Rather go with a deux-chevaux.

    Thanks ;)

    In other terms

In other terms, my question is : how can I make it so that the changes I make resizing windows, getting rid of My Sidebar and of other stuffs, remains in new windows or at later launchs of Netscape ?
I must have some configuration problem because according to what I read this changes should be saved somewhere and be used for new windows.

    Thanks

Adjust your window size/position to the one your want, with only one Netscape window open. Then exit Netscape.

Restart Netscape, it should remember that.

For any settings you want to make, only have one window at a time open.

For the sidebar, start the browser and go to View -- Show/Hide and click the sidebar.

Close the browser and then reopen it.

It should remember the settings to not open the sidebar.

I did try all this, also reinstalled Netscape and tried again, but it doesnt remember any setting. I am using Windows 98 SE, maybe I should have to reinstall it if its damaged or something.

    Thanks for help anyway.

Try Netscape 7. It has fewer bugs than the 6 series did.

The 6 series were all based on a pre 1.0 release of the Mozilla project that still had some strange bugs in them and in some cases the features were not turned on in them.
