    Hi,

My printer is a double sided capable printer (Xerox WorkCentre Pro 420). I updated the drivers of the printer and for some reason since i updated it is disabling the function of selecting double sided print outs. I also set the permissions to everyone (its a stand alone PC) plus the user is a local administrator on the PC so shouldn't make any difference. Still for some reason the double sided function is disabled! What do you think the problem can be?

I also noticed that printer is printing in reverse order for example pg 10 to pg1 (pg10 having text up). From where can i change this setting?

    Kind Regards

    Alan

If the old drivers were working I would revert back to them.

Reverse order printing - great facility as the final pile of printed sheets are in the right order :) - generally set in the application you are printing from - certainly Word and Adobe Reader - no doubt more and possibly the driver software too.

    Hi,

I rolled back the driver but the problem seems to be there. So i added a new printer with the old driver but still the same problem...is it possible that may be i can set it to print correctly from windows so every application from where i print will print correctly?

What about the double sided issue do you have any ideas?

    Thanks a lot mate

    Not clear which problem .......

Reverse order printing or double sided printing - or both?

Not being familiar with Xerox printers, let alone any printer capable of double sided printing I am at a loss as to what to suggest, except.....

Rather than roll back the printer driver I would completely uninstall the printer and re-install using the drivers that worked previously with a reboot inbetween. The roll back may not be completely effective.

As I posted earlier the reverse order printing is usually set up in the application from which you are printing ....

In Word 2003 - Tools > Options > Print - Reverse order print.

I know very little about networks and even less about network printers being a home user with only a simple network of 3 computers and use only one computer for printing.

However it is my understanding that the printer drivers must be loaded to each computer on the network. I assume you have done this - if true, and that they are all the same updated version.

I would uninstall the printer through Printers and Faxes and uninstall all related software through Add/Remove programs.

If you feel that this thread would be more appropriately placed in the Networking forum - I am inclined in that direction, then I will move it there. Alternatively, of course it could/should be in the Hardware forum :)

Have you checked the printing preferences setting?

Control Panel > Printers and Faxes > right click your printer > click "printing preferences" and check the settings under the Features tab.
