Hello, No matter what I do I cant refresh the security policies on my domain. I imported the default security policy for the local machine, the default domain and the default domain controller, I then do a secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce and restart the server. When it turns back on nothing has been refreshed and there is nothing from Scecli in the event log saying policy propagation was successful like there should be. Is there some setting somewhere that would prevent the security policy from propagating? I really need help on this on, any advice would be appreciated greatly

What happens at the normal refresh times? Unless you've reset them, every 90 minutes for 2K PCs except DCs which are every 5 minutes?

I get the error message 1000 from userenv about every 5 minutes, I take it this is the error message when the security policy wont update. The question is how do I fix it, the description is "Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your computer network. Return value (59)" if anyone can help me please do so.

    Hi JeremyR
I'll not insult you by making you think I've got a clue to your problem....but I did pull up a search that was similar?
See about middle of this page.

I fixed my problem. All I had to do was turn off the firewall and do a secedit. The question now is why would the firewall do this?
