Hi Guys, back after two years and a successful problem resolve. Now when I try to play a video clip from Sony Picture Motion Browser (2.0.06.17290) with Windows Media Player 11, I get first "W M P encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance click Web help" (nothing happens when I do) Then on closing that window, a new one appears titled Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library, saying "Runtime error Program:C\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call "
The clip plays in Sony P M Browser AND in Power DVD but I would like to have all my music and Videos available in the one programme. I have only had this problem with clips in Sony Picture Motion Browser, otherwise WMP 11 has worked well.
I have updated and re-installed WMP 11 and updated Sony M P Browser. I have run Spybot and Norton 360 antivirus to no avail. I have had this irritation since Sony PMBrowser was installed to accommodate my new Sony Hard Drive Handicam Can anyone help. Thanks Guys

    Hello David and welcome back,

My suggestion would be to contact Sony support. This seems to be a conflict between WMP11 and the Sony software.

I'm moving your thread to the Other Software section. This doesn't seem to be a XP OS issue.

    Thanks Charles,
I have all the same programmes loading on my wifes Vista laptop and she does not get the error message.(WMP 11 and Sony PMBrowser) All works fine for her but she does not have the hard disc space that I think we will soon need if we use the camera much for hols. Does this not suggest it might be WMP11 or the OS . Sony online support is not very prompt.

Only a few hits in Google, and no solutions that I could find....

I would remove the Sony software, see if WMP works, then re-install the Sony stuff.

If that doesn't fix it you'd have to see it either Sony or MS would be willing to assist.

Thanks for that. I copied the sony video clips to a new folder and then removed Sony Picture Motion Browser from the PC. The clips from the new folder when opened in WMP11 still exibited the same error message, but again could be played with Power DVD. The clip properties are:-Movie file mpeg. It seems that there is a conflict with the video files and WMP11 that does not exist with Power DVD. Can I alter the file type or download something to make the files compatable. Sony have not replied to my e-mails and I can't find anything on MS websites. The clips come with an MODD file with the same number as the video but removing that makes no difference. The video clips when in PMB have the following attributes:- Image size 720x576 and Video codec MPEG-2
    Still hoping
