Most calendar software with a reminder feature will have that function built in. Poke around in your calendar software's options/preference/settings (whatever terminology it uses) for a way to enable "Load on startup" or "Start when Windows loads" or something similar.

If yours doesn't have that function, there are a number of free calendar programs available for download that do.

I've looked at several calenders, and came across Sunbird. It reminded me of MS Schedule and I liked it so I loaded it up and have scheduled many things, but haven't figured out how to make it open on startup.

Thanks, for the help, but I found the way by running a search in windows help for "AutoRun ". Had to change to classic view to get the instructions, but after putting the shortcut in the start menu you can change the view back to new "Start Menu ".

It that calendar doesn't suit you, get the Original MS 3.1 calendar.

I've used it for many years and haven't seen anything else to equal it.

You could put a shortcut to the program in the folder Documents and settings\All users\Start menu\Programs\Startup to start when the desktop is loaded...
