Pretty well stumped - yes :( I intended to post a resumé this evening, but time has fled doing other things, so bear with me until tomorrow.

No problem Pete. We can wait. The computer is going nowhere, and life must go on, including yours. LOL

Rather than just going over everything again an a logical manner I have asked other Team Members to drop in. Let's see if anything comes of that for the time being.

    Hi,

Is anything checked under Accessibility? You can find that by going to Tools > Internet Options. There's a button labeled Accessibility on the General tab.

    Nothing should be checked there.

    Thank you Pete,
That might be a good idea. Two heads are better than one, right? LOL

    Hi Arie,
I will ask my Sister to check that out and get back to me. And then I will let you know. Thanks for your help.

    Cordially,
    Sandie :)

My Sister just called me (she didn't know where to find "tools" or "Internet Options" - LOL) so I walked her through what she needed to look for. And she told me that all boxes were unchecked under Accessibility.

So I guess we look elsewhere?

    Thanks a bunch,
    Sandie :)

    Hi Sandi :)

Does your sister have Microsoft Word installed?

Thank you Arie, it was worth a try.

    Hi Dave,
    Yes, I believe she does.

I'd like to do some tests with a web page built in Word to see if we can narrow down the problem. Have her go to the following page.

    http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/When_infected_with_PSGuard.htm

I'm going to assume it does not display correctly, just as no other pages do. Create a new folder on the Desktop or My Documents, then from the menu on that web page click File>Save As, save it to the new folder as a Web Page, Complete (*.htm, *.html). This will save both a file with an IE icon, and a folder that contains graphic files, both with the same name.

Now, have her double click the file with the IE icon. Does it display correctly?
Close that, then right click the file and select Edit. If it does not open with Word, close it and instead right click and select Open With>Microsoft Word for Windows. Does it display correctly in Word?

My Sister solved her problem, she bought a new computer.

I couldn't ask her to do what you mentioned David, because she has such little knowledge of how the computer works, she was unable to understand the directions sufficiently to follow them. Sorry about that.

She seems happy now anyway. I think she was just looking for an excuse to get that new computer. LOL

Thank you all, for all your suggestions and help. I appreciate it very much, even if we didn't get to the core of the problem.

    Cordially,
    Sandie

As long as she's happy it takes the strain off you I guess - pleasure to help out :) Would love to have known the cause!

Believe me, I would love to have learned the cause too, just in case it should ever occur on my own computer. Alas, I guess we will just have to wonder. LOL

Thank you guys. You were all great!
