    I tried to install the user agent switcher on my 2.0.0.6 version of Firefox. When it didn't work properly, I removed it using the safe mode. I also deleted the file that the website called for. I subsequently was not able to start Fiverox. I got a connection error. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. That didn't change anything. I then deleted the Firefox folder. I also deleted all profiles in the user folder. I then reinstalled Firefox with no add on's or extensions installed. I still get the connection error. After the connection times out Firefox freezes. I have checked the options on this computer and it is the same as another I have that works.

    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    [FONT= "Comic Sans MS"]Hi clubber

    Although you posted approximately three weeks ago, if you are still experiencing the same issue, then I would recommend that you post at the Firefox forum: -

    MozillaZine Forum Index -> Firefox Support

    Incidentally, there is a User Agent Switcher forum, if you wish to raise this issue with them: -

    chrispederick.com Forum

    Alternatively, try using an different broswer, such as Opera: -

    Opera Web browser

    Good luck.

    Clubber - Welcome to the Board :)

    Looks like your thread got overlooked - apologies for that :(

    Moved to the Netscape & Mozilla forum.

    Sounds like a mess was created trying to get rid of the addon! Deleting anything is never a good idea.

    Welcome to the Forum, clubber!

    Close Firefox
    Open your prefs.js file using either WordPad or Notepad, and look for this script:

    user_pref( "general.useragent.override ");

    Your prefs.js file is located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.profilename

    If that script is contained in the prefs.js file, then delete the script. Save the prefs.js file, and exit.

    If that script is not in the prefs.js file, then I would strongly recommend either posting on the User Agent Switcher Forum, or email the author, Chris Pederick.

    Also check your Fx settings for connection to the Internet found here:
    Tools | Options | Advanced
    Click on the "Network" Tab
    Click on the "Settings" Tab
    Is "Direct connection to the Internet" selected?
