I need some major help here PLEASE!

A couple years ago, Ibought a computer that was custom made for me, and it included a Western Digital Caviar WD1200 Hard Drive. Well, the computer worked jsut fine, and I had accumulated alot of files on the drive. When I moved back home, I brought the computer with me, and decided to get rid of it, but kept the hard drive. I booted it up a couple times, and it was working just fine, but since I didn't have a way of transferring the things I needed from the hard drive (there was just too much for CDs or USB drives) I copied just a few things, and figured that the rest would show up when I made the Hard Drive an External drive.

I bought a Venus D3 External Drive case, and installed the drive. Plugged everything in, and the drive pops up just like it should (Windows XP). My problem is that I can't access anything from my previous "My Documents" folder, and it appears to be empty!!! HELP!!! What can I do? How can I make sure that I didn't lose the over 30 GB of files, music, and other such stuff that was in there? When I try to open the folder from the drive, it says Access Denied. Hovering over the folder, though, is what freaks me out when it says it is empty. Anyone have any ideas???? I appreciate all and any help. Thanks.

    Luis

    Thankyouthankyouthankyou!

It worked perfectly! I didn't know where to search in the past files for those articles...but it worked perfectly. You don't know what a relief it is to have it all back...I wonder why it kept shoing 0 files in the folder before...oh well, doesn't matter now! Thanks again.:D

It is XP's security in action. Until you can prove you have administrator rights, XP will deny access.
Glad to help, don't be a stranger, come and visit often. :)
