MS Outlook Information Store cannot be opened.

I have been trying to import and export data from MS Outlook. I have done this many times, but just recently I get a message saying that The Information Store cannot be opened, and can't make any transfer of data. I have tried finding any *.ost files to delete, but there aren't any. I have tried repairing MS Office 2000 but that hasn't achieved any result.

Any ideas what else I might be able to try doing?

This is a home PC, a laptop running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition ver 2002

I am trying to import data from Microsoft Outlook on my desktop onto my laptop so I am able to work from the same data, i.e. Calendar, Contacts, Email files etc.
