Up until just a week or so ago, when I right clicked on the context menu when on the Internet and wanted to view or assign an email address using GishPuppy the GP window would open up on the upper left side of the window.

Now, for some reason it opens on the FAR right with only half of the window showing and I have to drag it to the original spot before I can even utilize it.

Does anyone have any idea why this has started functioning this way and can it be corrected?

Would an uninstall and reinstall help. I didn't see any help options on the GishPuppy site.

Could I have mistakenly made a change that would be causing this?

    Thanks.

I had never heard of GishPuppy until I did a Search.
I got this much: 1. There is, apparently, an extention for Firefox.
    2. One has to login to even get basic info.
I would not have a clue with the scant info at hand. You may want to contact the author of the extention: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2120

I did try to contact the author, but there is really not a Help or FAQ section.

I just figured that someone here who used Firefox would have some idea. I think it is more a Windows issue.

Since a lot of folks here seem to use Firefox I just assumed some of them might use the Gish it extension.

    Thanks anyway for your time.

You may have noticed that the download page I gave, has no discussion, and, from what I see there is no user input.
If an extention was not behaving as described, I, always contacted the author(s), and, often, I got a reply, with a different version coming up.

I did send an email last night to the only contact I could find.

Haven't heard anything yet and don't expect much since it is free.

I like the darn thing so far, so if I have to keep dragging it around to view it I will.

    Thanks.

The fact that it is free is not an excuse for the author to leave messages unanswered. I got answers from everyone I contacted, because they have pride on their product. They have to make it compatible with the version of Firefox which is being used. If I have time, I will try to sign up, and see what you are seeing.
Can't you open the thing in a Tab? I don't know what it takes to make it show up, or is there a way to make it show up differently. But, try to look at the options, if any.

Well, I can go to the website with no problem but if I want to sign up for a newsletter or say CBS news, when they ask for an email address I right click in the spot for entering such address and on the context menu is the Gish It tab.

Then I get the window where I can get the email address for that site. The purpose of this software is to figure out where spam is originating from. (I think) I've never had to use it because I haven't had one bit of spam since I got DSL and I want to keep it that way.

I haven't had time to research this because of the many other issues I've had but I think if you get spam you can figure out where it is coming from and re-assign the email address and drop that site completely.

I, even tried to create an account, and, the puppy did not accept my member name. I have no idea what it wants. It said that it wants only _ and characters.
Does the valid member starts with_?
I have no idea what it wants. I did e-mail the author.

Huh! I did a very simple username and password. I had no problem setting up the account.

I just did get a response from the author. I will post it below. Don't think that will solve the problem though.

    Hi Pat,

I'm not sure why you are having this popup problem, I don't ever tell the window where to go, just to popup wherever the browser says so. It seems like you computer thinks that your desktop is bigger than it really is and considers the location a valid spot. Perhaps you should try to change the size of your desktop to a smaller size, i.e. 800x600, let it make the necessary adjustments, and then change it back.

    Tell me if that works.

    Michael.

It does make much sense if you have to change the size of your desktop. Which size are you using?

I tried the suggestion he gave and it didn't make any difference. The Gish window still went to the right only larger. Still half off the screen.

I don't know why these strange happen.

    My settings are 1280X720.
