Outlook always chooses bad email addresses

Hello. I run XP home, SP 2, Outlook 2002 SP 3. I have a (sort of an overpriced near-miss) PDA, an Ipaq 4700.
Perhaps I'm missing something obvious, but I'm at a loss to explain where Outlook 2002 goes to decide how to auto-complete email addresses when I type them. Again and again, I accidentally accept the bogus auto-completion of an address. Outlook doesn't seem to look in the Outlook address book (too easy?). Instead, it remembers every time I erroneously entered an email address, and suggests those bad addresses every-single-time. Why? Why doesn't Outlook suggest the current values from the Outlook Contacts database? A year ago I mistyped an address for my son and sent a message, and now every single time I try to email him, it suggests the bad address. Where is it getting the bad address, which always fails? How can I clear this bad address info when I can't tell that it is even stored anywhere? (FWIW, I am stuck on Outlook 2002 because that's what came with my iPaq 4700--the worst piece of junk hardware ever conceived by man). Any help appreciated -- between the ridiculous bugs in ActiveSync, and the seemingly built-in defects in Outlook, at this point, I am very close to chucking my $600 iPaq out the window on Interstate 40 at 65MPH, and just forgetting Outlook ever happened to me. Please save me from this fate. Enlighten me! Thanks!

When you're typing the addy and it starts to autocomplete, thus showing a bad address, highlight the address with the arrow keys and hit delete. That will delete from the nk2 file where all addresses are cached. That's the manual way. The other way is to rename your nk2 and let it create a new one.
