Can not get access to shared Printer access on xp using a D-Link DI-525 router.

I have other wireless computers that work fine. All Using XP Home. The new Gateway MT3421 notebook with Vista Premium will not let me
add the shared printers. The message is Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.

I have all my printers shared from the xp PC. I can see and use the files from all computers over the network. The add printer on Vista finds the printers but, will not let me add them to my new laptop. I can add it when I go direct to usb port from the printer, but not over the network. Any thoughts would be helpful. Conrad

    Found my answer here. http://forums.cnet.com/5208-7589_102-0.html?forumID=62&threadID=232132&messageID=2395292

Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.

Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that. Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name. Type in the \\computer name\printer name ie. My computer's name is basement and the printer name is EpsonSty so I typed in \\basement\epsonsty

Yahoo! It worked. Go figure! I guess Microsoft thinks printers on a intranet are local.
