Hi, I've actually read some posts on remote desktop. I did get it setup correctly, I can connect to this computer (my main) from any computers from my house.

But, I can't connect to any on this computer.

All my computers are using windows xp pro sp2. All updates are installed.

I've already gone past the firewall issue, seeing how I can connect to this. But I can't connect to any computers from this.

I don't have the "advanced" tab, like I do on my other computers.

    Any thoughts?

Well, I must not be putting in the settings right or something like that. but I can't connect to them. Also RDC looks different on my computer then others.

I want it so it automatically asks for credentials when needed, not ask for credentials like this:

Do you get some sort of error message? If so, what does the message say?

oh sorry for not answering your question earlier.

    I get msgbox:

I know these are the right credentials, if they're not I'd like to configure it so it asks for credentials when needed.

I see that this is checked. But I was wondering how to get the advanced tab back up, and how to make it so that it automatically asks for credentials when needed.

On the General tab of the Options you should see a box that says "Always ask for credentials. "

I've never seen an Advanced tab on RDC in Windows XP. Windows Vista's RDC has an Advanced tab.

I have the advanced tab on my XP machines. I think it got there with the update a few months ago.

But whats funny is that, when there is a password, I can login just fine.

But w/o it acts up (screenshot above).
