neat grey boxes in replies

    When posting a reply to question - how do you get those neat gray boxes around copied comments from original?

    Amazing- been on here 5+ years n never did it. But like it. Want to use it for a reply now.

    Another one:
    how to get a link shortened into something else like: 'check this' instead of giving original 2 sentence link?
    Still like giving original links so can obviously see where going but sometimes they're awful looonnggg.

    They can still see most of the link if they hover the cursor over the one you make; the URL of the link will show in the status bar at the bottom of the browser. Of course, that does require having the status bar enabled. ;)
