Recently in my Toshiba Laptop OE does not allow me to delete any in/out messages. A dialog box indicates "not enough memory" which is impossible.
I have FUJITSU MHT2040AT 37.5GB hard drive with 448MB RAM.
This seems to be a phenomena which puzzles local experts-not desperately urgent as I can send/receive messages it just builds up and will \be a problem soon.
    Any helpful comments/experience please?

cayfi - Welcome to the Board :)

I suspect your inability to delete messages is due to the Deleted Items file being corrupted.

Close OE and open Windows Explorer - under Tools > Folder Options > View click on 'Show hidden files & folders'

Then search for *.dbx files and include in the search Hidden files and folders.

Delete Deteted Items.dbx - it will be recreated when OE is next opened.

Open OE and try a deletion.

When done go back to Windows Explorer - under Tools > Folder Options > View click on 'Do not show hidden files & folders' and exit out.

With OE Closed, search for the file->Deleted Items.dbx and delete it.

It'll get recreated next time you delete an email.

Someone types faster then I do:)

    Peter C,

Thanks for all that. I got that far and deleted in/out boxes but when re-opening OE I still could not delete subsequent in/out messages and I still got the notice that there was not enough memory. There must be another way or there is a corrupted file somewhere. I can periodically empty in/out boxes but I do not like leaving a bug to "develop ".
    Any experience in this?

    sincerely

    Steve,

Got it, seems to work now as it should-I can drag to Deleted Items as well as delete direct-it must be wonderful to be brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son's name is Stephen Jones with a C in between - could \not have been him as it was his tinkering that gave me this trouble in the first place-thanks again to you and tto Peter .

    sincerely
