problem viewing live streaming video

hye every one my mood is getting bad i m facing a problem that when i watch live streaming video through internet the video content playing very fast like fast forward with fast voice i can't watch it nicely b4 that i can watch it but since from yesterday i can't watch nicely it keeps playing like fast forward but i can view live streaming on different computer only the one i m using now it's playing fast forward videos okey

Perhaps Windows XP's System File Checker (SFC) will help you resolve your issue.

• Have your Windows XP CD handy because you may be prompted to insert it into your CD drive during this process.
• Click Start > Run...
• Type [FONT= "Courier New"][SIZE= "3"]sfc /scannow[/SIZE][/FONT] in the "Open:" field.
• Click the OK button.

A "Windows File Protection" window will open and display its progress. If SFC runs successfully without any intervention from you, it will take approximately 15-25 minutes to complete. When SFC completes, the "Windows File Protection" window will simply disappear.

To see any changes that may have been made by SFC after it completes:

• Click Start > Run...
• Type [FONT= "Courier New"][SIZE= "3"]eventvwr.msc[/SIZE][/FONT] in the "Open:" field.
• Click the OK button.
• Click the "System" item on the left side of the "Event Viewer" window.

Any changes made by SFC will be displayed (in reverse order) as "Windows File Protection" events between Event ID 64016 (Windows File Protection started) and 64017 (Windows File Protection completed).

Double-click on an event (or right-click on the event and select "Properties ") to view details about the event. You can use the up/down arrow buttons on the right side of the event's "Properties" window to view details about adjacent events without having to close the event's "Properties" window.

okey i just do sfc /scan now and is sucessfully finished nothing happen or pormpt to ask for cd but when i see the view i recieve many errors i just notedown 2 n see it seems can't be repair here is it.

I suggest you copy the details for all SFC "Windows File Protection" errors to Notepad and save the Notepad .TXT file for reference.


I'm guessing your current operating system (OS) is Windows 2000 SP4. Am I correct?

Have you applied all Microsoft security patches up to date? To help you verify this, I suggest you download and run Belarc Advisor. After Belarc Advisor finishes its inventory of your computer system, it will automatically open your web browser and display a report.

CAUTION: Your Belarc Advisor report will contain several private/sensitive details that probably should not be posted in a forum message. If you decide to copy/paste details from your Belarc Advisor report into a forum message, then be careful you do not paste private/sensitive information about your computer system.

In the "Installed Microsoft Hotfixes" section of the Belarc Advisor report, look for items flagged as "Reinstall! ". If there are such items, then you should search for the appropriate KBxxxxxx numbers in the Microsoft Download Center, download the appropriate files (for your OS), install them, and then reboot. Then run Belarc Advisor again to confirm all security patches are properly installed.

If I am correct, then I think you might be able to resolve all of your SFC "could not be copied into the DLL cache" errors by copying the proper files from your Windows installation CD to those locations specified by SFC. You might be able to find those files in the I386 folder somewhere on the CD or in .CAB files located somewhere on your CD. (You might also want to search your hard drive for your "could not be copied into the DLL cache" files to see where they might be located.)

WinZip is handy for viewing/extracting the files inside .CAB files (which are similar to .ZIP files).

Before searching your hard drive for system files and/or .CAB files, open Windows Explorer and do the following.

1. Click Tools > Folder Options > View tab.
2. Enable "Show hidden files and folders ".
3. UNcheck "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) ".
4. Click the "Apply" button.
5. Click the "Apply to All Folders" button.
6. OK your way out.

I wrote these instructions for Windows XP and I do not currently have access to a Windows 2000 computer. Therefore, I do not know if the method I described is exactly the same for Windows 2000.

When you open your Windows search utility (Start > Search ?), you might need to check an option to search hidden files/folders before running the search (Windows XP's search utility has such a selectable option in "More advanced options" under the "All files and folders" menu.)

If you are unsuccessful with fixing your SFC "Windows File Protection" errors, then perhaps a "Repair Install" of your Windows OS will fix your problems. I suggest we wait for recommendations from other people who are more knowledgeable about repair installs than me before proceeding with this idea though.

 

okey mail man i updated windows 2000 to windows s4 yersterday after reading Belarc Advisor report it seems there were some missing patches just now i fully update through windows update n restart the computer but it seems dones't work then i again did sfc /scannow n here is my log report

eem plz read my log n also recomanded some expert abt resolve this problem i haven't repair any thing but i believe may be after format or repair instaltion winodws can solve this problem n then i don't want do it i hope you people help me to find the problem n solution as well thanx
n i feel that problem cause when i download trial version of nero 7 recently i m using nero 6 the setup file was corrupted but i force to install n it replaced some files (*what file i don't remember it) i have cleaned the nero from my system but after that also didn't work now i use same old versoin nero 6 but the problem still there i feel may bcs of that my problem arised not sure abt that is it true or not thanx

 

Whoa! You're right! That's a LOT of errors. I'm guessing a Repair Install would be the best next course of action but I defer recommendations to someone else more experienced than me.

Those particular errors might be directly related to your WMP9 issue. I currently do not know how you should proceed though.

 

I'll post information as I discover it. I do not know how helpful it might be. Perhaps some details will help you recall some setting you might have made (and can change).

emm okey mail man we wait n see n meantime u try to bring my issue to someone expert to solve this problem i don't want to repair installation most important the windows media player can play live streaming correctly so i can enjoy live tv thanx mean while i try to googling these files n see can find any answer abt the files u mention in ur post emmmm

 

If the other computer is also Windows 2000 with Windows Media Player 9 (WMP9) installed, then perhaps the following steps will solve your WMP9 (streaming) issue.

• Rename c:\program files\windows media player\npwmsdrm.dll to npwmsdrm.old
• Copy the npwmsdrm.dll from your other computer to the c:\program files\windows media player\ folder.

• Rename c:\winnt\system32\drmstor.dll to drmstor.old
• Copy the drmstor.dll from your other computer to the c:\winnt\system32\ folder.

• Rename c:\winnt\system32\drmclien.dll to drmclien.old
• Copy the drmclien.dll from your other computer to the c:\winnt\system32\ folder.

thanx mailman just finished the procedure but it doesn't work still same i followed ur instructions still video play like FFwd fast forward..any idea...
i was exciting everything will work fine huh still no luck..

 

That's disappointing news.

Perhaps the Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player 7.1 or later will solve your streaming issue.

CAUTION:

Windows 2000 is not listed so I probably would not try this. If you choose to try this, then you are doing so at your own risk.

• Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows 98 Second Edition, Me, and 2000

If you choose this route (which seems safer to me), then perhaps it would be best to

• first uninstall WMP9,
• then reboot,
• then install WMP9,
• then reboot again.

After reinstalling WMP9, I would run Belarc Advisor again and check for necessary security updates. There are some security patches for WMP9 that have been released which might not be included in the WMP9 installation.

 

Could check some hardware settings ..
Video card -- acceleration setting. Whatever the setting is, reduce in half and try (a restart never hurts). If problem continues keep reducing, if helps, slowly increase over time to find sweet spot.
Does this problem occur on all streaming video sources??
