I can't sign in to Windows Live because they have my old email address/ID. How can I change to my new email address? I'm stymied.

This is how I'd search for an answer.

I don't use Windows Live, but the usual procedure would be sign in with your old email address/ID and then update your details.

Can't sign in to Windows Live

Pete - we have 2 problems here: the second is that they won't accept my old password any more, so sent me a new one, but of course it had to be sent to the old address which of course didn't work any more. (I had hoped it would still be valid for a few more days, but no.) So without an acceptable password I can't sign in.

They tell me that my new email is unavailable, and I must choose a new one - of course it's unavailable - it's mine and has been for a few weeks now.

I guess I could start over with a whole new address and p'word, but I wonder if that's really worth it anyway. It's really more a matter of principle by now...
