   Every time I start EXCEL 2003 I get the following error:
   Compile error in hidden module: CommonMod
   Does anyone know how to fix this. I have googled and checked Microsoft help but to no avail.

   Look here - I see our 'friend' Norton could be involved .....
   
   You receive a "Compile error in hidden module" error message when you start Word or Excel
   
   Have you Repaired Excel? Help > Detect & Repair.

   Dont have norton antivirus but doing the
   Help>detect and repair worked thanks a bunch
