    Hey guys,

thanks for the help in advance. I have been searching high and low for a solution to my problem and i just can't find it. I recently built a brand new system with much excitement about all the new part and games to play. Unfortunately that is were the fun stopped. I have been getting blue screens since i started. It was initially problems with VISTA so i scraped the OS and moved back to XP. Now i get multiple BSOD all day long. The longest my computer has run continuously i think is 2 hours.

For the most part it seems to be IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, i also have gotten
KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M BAD_POOL_HEADER (19) and some memmory corruption. I know the first response is Memtest 86. Been there done that. CHanged out a bunch of RAM turns out i had a bad stick, but that hasn't stopped the IRQL BSOD.

Running memtest on 10 passes turned up no errors with the current RAM configuration. and vista's memory diagnostic tool also found no errors. I am at my whits end and out of ideas, i just want to play a game or a movie or even listen to music without the fear of wondering when the next BSOD will occur.

Below is the latest BSOD hopefully it helps. I have updated every driver removed every PCI card and am completely updated on XP updates.

again thanks for the help guys

As memory testers aren't perfect, try running both sticks of RAM one at a time. That dump has crashed at IRQL 1c, and this is almost always hardware related, with RAM at the top of the list.

I agree that they aren't 100 percent and they could be the issue, but i was wondering if this might be plausible. My system is running fine now, no BSOD but i had to turn the memory frequency from 1066 to 800 Mhz. Is it the motherboard or the Ram that aren't liking the higher frequency. Both are suppose to support 1066 memory frequency. Any thoughts?

According to MSI the motherboard supports up to DDR2 800. So, it looks like you've found the problem.

    Main Memory
    • Supports dual channel DDR2 533/667/800, using four 240-pin/1.8V DDR2 DIMMs.
    • Supports a maximum memory size up to 16GB

When i purchased the motherboard, the box label clearly stated that it supported 1066 mhz memory speed. Any ideas on a way to get it to run that way or just try to run it stablely at something close to 1066?

Interesting in that Peter is absolutely correct in that both the spec & the manual clearly state DDR2 800 as the max, but if you go to www.crucial.com and work through their memory selector both DDR2 800 & DDR2 1066 are offered as compatible.

Maybe a BIOS update or contact MSI support.

Hi, wakemaster39. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)

If you have one pair of DDR2 RAM sticks and wish to use them in Dual-Channel mode, according to the P6N Diamond Series MS-7320 (V1.X) Mainboard manual Memory section (pages 2-7 and 2-8) "Dual-Channel Memory Population Rules ", the pair of RAM sticks should be installed in the DIMM1 and DIMM3 slots (or DIMM2 and DIMM4 slots).

    Also, on page 2-8:
Therefore, to cover all bases, I would use the DIMM1 and DIMM3 slots. :) According to schematic diagram on page 1-4 of the manual, the DIMM1 slot is the slot closest to the CPU.

In case you need to troubleshoot, here's a link to the MSI's Basic Troubleshooting Guide -- Volume 1 on their USA site.
