    Hi All
Is there a way of making my pc work in folder views rather than common tasks in all folders (explorer, my documents etc ).In one easy step!
Have tried loads of things but my pc has decided to be great in explorer but in my docs is opening new windows every time I click! does not say this in the options. Was working but has changed - have tried the usual folder views options etc.
I hate the common task menu and am on the verge of smashing the b........d to bits.
Have possibly made changes all over the options - what can I do?
    Thanks
    Lee

Rt click My Comp icon on Desktop > select Properties > Advanced tab > Settings button > uncheck:
Use background image for each folder type
    Use common tasks in folders

Have just tried the below - that I have never seen before, just before your reply
Another method (courtesy of sd2 ) is to open any explorer window and click Tools>Folder Options>File Types tab. Select (None) Folder in the list and click Advanced button below. Select explore in the list and click Set Default. OK your way out.
Have just changed the option you suggested, seems to make sense.
    Thanks for you time
