    Running Win XP SP2

I have a Satellite M45-S269 Laptop. I had Bluetooth set up with my Canon iP6600D printer and working fine for the past 8 or more months. Sunddenly I'm getting an "Authentication failed" message when I try to print. Even when I use the default PIN I have no luck. I have deleted the printer from the Toshiba Bluetooth Setting and tried the "add new device "....all to no avail. What could possibly be going on here?

My problem seems to be getting the PIN to authenticate the printer. According to Toshiba's Bluetooth the printer is there it just won't authenticate it in order to connect. Bluetooth connection for Printer also shows up correctly in Printer's and Faxes.

Reminder: I've been using this setup for 8 plus months with no problem.

    Hi, AceH. :)

Have you tried looking for/installing any driver/software updates for your Canon PIXMA iP6600D Photo Printer?

EDIT: If I recall correctly, a Windows Update has caused a printer issue for me in the past (with a different printer) and I was able to remedy the issue with an update from the printer manufacturer's web site. Perhaps you've run into a similar issue.

It appears the problem is with the printer not Toshiba's Bluetooth Stack. I downloaded and installed the latest version of Toshiba's Bluetooth Stack and it works with another device I have connected but still can't authenticate the Printer's PIN.

I have contacted Canon and waiting for a response.

    Thanks.

Heard from Canon. Was told to rerun the printer setup....unfortunately it did not solve the problem.

I redid everything, updated to latest version of Toshiba Bluetooth Stack for Windows, updated the latest printer drivers and tried to redo the bluetooth setup connection and still get the message "authentication for printer PIN failed ".....nothing worked.

Waiting for another response from Canon.

I finally fixed the PIN problem. Everything is recognized and in place. HOWEVER, now when I try to print via Bluetooth I get a "printer is off line check to make sure cable is connected and the power is turned on ".
