    Evening all,

This is my first time....so be gentle please! I have noticed that when members ask for help they include a 'Hijack Log'. As I haven't got a clue what this is (although it does sound ominous:eek: ) I would appreciate someone telling me how to erm....well, get one. :D

I have only just found this site (well 45 mins ago, but I couldn't find how to post! ) and I have to say it is very good of you all to volunteer to help people with their computer issues.

If I get any replies, it may take me a while to actually find and read them, so please give me a little time. :)

    Many thanks in anticipation,

    BoltonByrd :D

BoltonByrd - Welcome to the Board :)

The first thing you should know is that your thread must have a Meaningful Title - so you get the standard advisory :) .....

Please observe Posting Rules #3 - Meaningful Subject - I have adjusted your title.

A HijackThis Log is the result of an analysis of what is running on a computer that has been compromised (infected) by trojans, viruses, redirectors, etc and is generated by a program called HijackThis.

It is not a program which is run unless your computer is infected and is behaving strangely. These logs need trained experts for their analysis and should not be tampered with by those inexperienced in these matters.

If you have a problem on your computer and it is thought that it is infected you will be given instructions regarding HijackThis.

How Do I produce a Hijack Log

Thank you Pete for the welcome and also for editing my title.

My problem has been with me for approx 5 weeks, but having just spoken to aol (again) it may be that it is not my computer, but a fault with aol and exchanges.

I don't want to take up unnecessary time, so I won't go into the problem unless aol reply tomorrow to tell me it is my computer.

Once again, many thanks for the response and the fine job you all do.

Here's hoping I wont need to ask for help,

    Regards,

    BoltonByrd :D
