    Hi,
I have remedied this problem but I was wondering, Does anyone know why it happens?
I had a network connectivity problem with an XP Pro comp. Everything was saying it was connected to the domain, eg it had correct network address and default gateway etc but users couldn't log on to domain controller. I did ping tests and could ping out everywhere, ipconfig /release and renew worked as it should.
What I did in the end was to join the XP machine to a workgroup and then rejoin it to the domain then everything worked fine.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

Sounds like the computer account in Active Directory got corrupted/disabled.

Disconnecting & re-joining the domain is a simple solution. If it happens again, try checking the AD for error messages.
