Firefox will not work after installing the last update, for some reason it just doesn't work. I tried going back to the the Mozilla Version 1.5 and still doesnt work.

BTW, i tried installing other browsers (Avant, Netscape, etc..)and none of them work...The only one actually working is Internet Explorer. And the Firewall is not the problem as Mozilla is allowed to go through it.

Soo, what seems to be the problem???

No idea what your problem is, given the lack of info.

You'll have to include error messages or details from the Event logs, so we might be able to take a shot at it.

Oh, my Firefox 2.0.0.6 is working fine on Vista...

    Welcome to the Forum, wg2k7!

    wg2k7,

Even tho you have Firefox as allowed in the Firewall options, try deleting Firefox. Start Firefox, and then when your Firewall asks whether or not to allow Firefox, then allow the application again.

Also, try disabling your AV mail scanner, and see if that might be your problem.

Have you tried opening Firefox in "Safe" mode?

Take a look at this Firefox KB Article, and try the workarounds suggested:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser_will_not_start_up

More information would definitely be helpful; as are you getting an error, exactly what happens when starting Firefox, anything you can offer will help solve the problem more quickly.

Are you by chance running ZoneAlarm's firewall?

When you start in Safe Mode, check all the boxes except the first one. What happens?

Have you enabled: Tools | Options | Advanced | Network Tab | Settings Tab
"Direct Connection to the Internet "

I've done searches for this error, and the only solution I've found is to ensure that Firefox is allowed in the Firewall setting.

Also take a look at this KB Article:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox

Try the workarounds offered there, as some are simply basic maintenance, which I hadn't asked you about. These are all good suggestions, and will do no harm, and might help!

I did a Search, and came up with this
. I don't know if it will help at all, but, it is fun to read.
Could you give an example of other programs which don't install?
