cd wont recognize BLANK cd's

    Dimension 2400 with a TSST corp CD-RW TS-H292C
    It plays audio and data cd's fine but won't recognize anything n the drive if the cd is blank...
    so i cant burn anything......
    stopped doin auto play awile back but like a DA I paid no heed....sigh
    I have had this prob b4 and fixed it but 4 the life of me ...can't remember...
    senior moment i guess....
    help?
    o the driver is from 01 but i cant seem 2 find 1 4 it...

    Try going into your device manager, removing the drive all together, and then restart, letting the drive get recognized, then reinstall the driver.

    Thank you :p I am 16 and still have a little difficulty reading that kind of stuff cause I like to type more proper.

    Back on subject, did you ever get this working, or have you abandoned the complete need for it and gotten a new drive?

    One more though as to what you could do that just clipped my mind as I wrote this post, try making sure you are completely up to date on everything, make suer you have XP service pack 2 installed etc and all that fun stuff.

    If the disks you are using are too modern for the drive you will need to get a firmware update for it from TSST.

    Does it recognise your old burnt disks?

    Some burning programs include a UDF format program (the one Nero has is InCD). That may be the cause.
