Dell laptop won't power up

    I have an Inspiron 6000.
    If you press the power button, the power light will blink, if I hold down the button the light will just keep blinking.
    that's all it will do.

    My niece had it plugged in charging during a lightning storm, many of the house fuses blew and the outlet where this was plugged in was blown.

    the ac adapter still lights up when plugged in now.

    Is it fried?

    Odds are the mobo got fried....Your homeowners insurance might be able to help..
