For 2 years I've owned a Go Video VR3845 combo DVD/VCR Recorder and for even longer have subscribed to Comcast Digital cable here in NJ. I've known this Go Video unit won't let you dupe copy-protected DVD's--fair enough, I just use it to record TV shows and my personally created video onto DVD+R, DVD-R and DVD+RW media. But I've run into a strange problem where for the first time I wanted to record a movie ( "Goodfellas" for those interested lol!) from the AMCTV cable channel and it won't let me. It displays "copy-protected" on the recorder and won't record any show from that channel. I can record movies and TV shows from every other Comcast cable channel. In fact once this occurs, attempting to record a show from any channel on the now flagged DVD in my recorder results in the same "copy-protected" error. I have to initialize the DVD+RW in order to record other channels on it again.

Weird huh? Any ideas (other than renting "Goodfellas" lol)?

Thanks, I've posed the question directly to AMCTV.
