That CPU and memory is just not enough for Windows XP.

Yes, is absolute minimum for XP . (this is very old computer ~10Years)

But so far so good. Because boot xp arund use 2mins. is not bad .

But anyway, is that regedit setting is good setting or something wrong?

    Thanks a lot.

The regedit setting is not the same as on my computer, look at the Settings string, but that may be a difference between versions - mine XP Pro SP 2 fully patched.

Search Assistant is on, but never used. I use a third party search engine.

If you want another search engine try AgentRansack - I use the Pro version.

There is a difference - I have no idea what it means :)
If the hardware lasts for the next 10 years, why not, but do not even think of moving away from XP or loading it with complex software - it simply will slow to a crawl or not work at all. Bear in mind that updates for XP will cease in the next few years (2010??) and security will be a problem.

Some ideas to speed up the search
    1) try turning off the indexing service in services.msc
you can always turn it on later
2)go my computer > drives > properties of drive
    uncheck indexing > ok
    let it do its thing
    3) do one drive at a time
    if you have partitions
    4) more ram
    5) spyware ???
at the worst try the search in safe mode
