    windows xp home edition sp2

How can I remove the display of folders in the right pane of windows explorer
and see only the contents of the folder which is shown in the left pane.
In the current displaly the same identical folder is shown in the right and left pane.
I have tried may times to solve this problem and would appreciate any suggestions of how this can be done.

Just so we understand correctly, if you open Windows Explorer and click My Documents in the left pane, you see the My Documents folder in the right pane rather than the contents of My Documents?

I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around this ...... guess it's just the trying to imagine what it must be like :p Would you mind posting a screenshot or two?

Then, try the following commands from the run line, hitting enter after each. You should get a succeeded message.

    regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
    regsvr32 /i browseui.dll

Reboot and see if there's any difference.

hawkeye, that is exactly the way Windows Explorer is supposed to be laid out. The right pane will display the contents of any folder you click in the left pane. In your screenshot for instance, you have selected Local Disk C: in the left pane. The right pane shows all files and folders within C:\
The left pane shows the same folders because it is a directory tree .... notice the left pane does not show files. Now click on the folder Flash Drive in the left pane. The right pane displays only files. It has no folders in the right pane, else they would be visible in the left pane as well.

    Hope this helps :)

Duplication of folder in windows explorer

    Appreciate your patience and explanations.
I wanted to make windows explorer only show folders in
the lef pane and detail file content of those foldeers in
the right pane and no folders

This display exists in Power Desk 6 and I like it very much.
Power Desk 6 is certainly a significant improvement over
Windows Explorer and I am using it as a replacement
