... is the message I get when attempting to copy to a blank CD. The drive, (E), works well when I'm playing DVD's and copying files to my hard drive from previously created CDs, but for some reason I cannot access the drive when the blank CD (or a blank DVD) is inserted in the drawer.

I've followed Bill Castner's advice to another member where he recommended regedit to reset the Autoplay function to value 0, but it hasn't helped me... (also the thread was over 60 days old so I couldn't ask this there...)

The complete message I get is: "E:\ is not accessible, Incorrect function "

Can anyone please give me some direction in rectifying this problem? Thanks.

    Try this ....

In My Computer right click on the drive > Properties > Recording tab and see if 'Enable recording on this drive' - or similar wording, is checked. If not check it and try a burn. Normally not needed when using third party burning software, but no harm to try.

I have to ask this - the optical drive is a CD-RW or DVD-RW, not a plain CD-ROM or DVD-ROM? I think you answered this in a roundabout sort of way with the term 'previously created CDs' presumably created on that drive.

    Thanks - AGAIN!

Have you developed webbed feet this week?

Fortunately I live 50 + miles from the affected areas so no webbed feet, but starting to get rusty :)
