Button display problems.

    There's something wrong with some of the button displays. Like for example the minimize, maximize, and exit buttons at the top right corner of all windows. Instead of showing a line, and big square, and an "x ", it's showing a 0, a 2, and a "r ".

    For the the drop down arrows like for example the one beside the back button in IE, instead of a triangular arrow pointing down, it's now a 6. Even check boxes look weird, they look like a small bird or a small treble clef. Can somebody please help me fix this?

    Either you got a really weird theme going, or Explorer.Exe is corrupted. Use System File Checker "Sfc. Exe" to replace it, use the 'Extract one file...' option, have your 98 CD or know the location of your installation files. You will be prompted to reboot.

    Actually, this computer (not mine) is using ME and it gives me an error when I try to run SFC. Any other ideas?

    I can only suggest reinstalling the video drivers for ME, or try using System Restore if that is working.
