When I play solitaire, the game window shows up in random locations. I move it to where I want it, but when I play again it's somewhere else. Is there a way to make it stay put? This isn't important; I just want to feel that the human is the boss once in a while. (I'm using Windows ME.)

Must admit I haven't seen a box with anything prior to XP for quite a while, but try this ....

When closing the program hold down the Shift key while going File > Exit - or whatever. Do not use the X button. Does that stick?

    Fun With Solitaire Window

Kingman and PeteC: Following on the above topic, I often wondered why the solitaire window moved about each time it was opened, so did the following:

Opened and closed the program about 10+- times and observed the following:

The Solitaire window marched inexorably diagonally from top left of the desktop towards the lower right corner each time the program was closed and re-opened. Much like the tile effect when you use "sysedit ". When it got approx. half way to the bottom right corner of the desktop it went back up to the top left and started over again. The movement of the solitaire window seems very controlled and deliberate.

I am sure it is a plot by M$ to drive all of us nuts.

Just my 2 cents (pence for PeteC) worth of useless information.

Now you got me going there :) - makes similar movement in XP, but in smaller increments.

    Stimulation

Now for some real stimulation. It's a nice hot, sunny day here so I am going to go outside, pull up a lawn chair in the shade and watch the grass grow.:D

Try this old trick. Hold the CTRL key down while closing it.

    Sorry, PeteC. It doesn't stick.
markp62, I'm not closing anything with CTRL. I've had windows that opened in wrong sizes and arrangements. Closing with CTRL fixed one at a time, but adjusted almost every other window to agree with that one.
