    Hi all,

Yesterday - my grandson shut off the computer accidentally while my back was turned....LOL! When I powered up again, I got no error messages, thankfully, but when I started FF2, I was shocked to see that all my bookmarks were gone.

    I have both FF2 and FF 1.

I located the backups in C:\Documents and Settings\Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and changed the last one to bookmark.html in both my profile and in the default folders because a friend said this would fix it. It did not change anything.

Can someone please tell me how I can get the bookmarks back? When I click on the backups they open up as a HTML document and they are as they should be except for the last one which was empty. Please tell me step-by-
step so I can follow your instructions.

    Thanks for your help.

The file name is bookmarks.html, or maybe the above is a typo. However, the backup will replace the Bookmarks. Try another of the backups and see if that will work.

    Ramona,

You bet! :D However I thought that if I disabled the messed up bookmarkbackup file that somehow the last complete bookmarkbackup file would automatically be retrieved into FF. I guess I was wrong but it is not the first time.

Now I am looking into Thundebird to see if I want to use it as my email client.

    Ann,

I believe you will find Thunderbird much to your liking, and certainly more secure than Netscape.
