    I am using a desktop computer with a usb wireless adapter on XP.

    I have basic zonealarm installed, disabled that to see if it would work then...
    It did not

    I cannot see any wireless networks on my desktop computer. I turned on my laptop to see if networks appear and yes - same location as where my desktop is. They don't appear on my desktop.

    What am I doing wrong?

    My first thoughts would be;

    1. Type of network being searched for - Ad-Hoc or Infrastructure
    2. Open or shared
    3. Broadcast channel

  3. to hide this advert.

    Make sure the Windows "Wireless Zero Configuration" service is set to "automatic" and is running. You can find the "Services" in the Administrative Tools folder, in the Control Panel.

    I already have that set up. What else could be wrong?
