Windows Vista KB936357 Microcode Reliability Update

    Well! Support certainly isn't putting forth much information about this
    optional update. I have a multi-boot configuration of XP-Pro and
    Vista Utimate. Do I apply this update under both OSs or just one since
    it appears to be CPU specific? :confused:

    Does this "microcode" update affect only Intel Core 2 owners wth Vista? I've got a "Northwood" Pentium 4 here and i'm thinking, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm running XP and the update showed up today.

    As posted above there is one update for Vista users and another for XP - for XP ....

    A microcode reliability update is available that improves the reliability of systems that use Intel processors Your call - I can't comment as an AMD user :)

    I loaded this without any issues ....

    Computers that are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and that are equipped with multiple processors that support processor power management features may experience decreased performance
