This is the report after defragging. Which one of these files below, if any, can I delete?

    50 1 KB \WINNT\system32\config\software.LOG
    23 1 KB \Documents and Settings\Administrator\ntuser.dat.LOG
    3 1 KB \WINNT\system32\config\SECURITY.LOG
    2 1,590 KB \WINNT\WindowsUpdate.log

    Tanx,

As a general rule, log files are safe to delete if you don't need em...I think you'll find a couple of those are always in use by Windows and it won't allow you to delete em.

Thanks Steve. I'll see what I can eliminate. That's the only thing that I miss about FAT32 is the fact that it defrags so much easier and faster.

But NTFS can sustain more fragmentation without noticeable loss in performance.

sorry, PeteC, can't let that pass. It's an old wives (read MS) tale. Modern disks are designed with short seek times and don't need defragmentation. I haven't defragged for years and my computers fly. And my disks are all but a couple FAT32.
