Set up a new machine with XP-Pro...migrating from W2KPro. To be able to network to the W2KPro machine I need to set passwrods (null passwords not allowed). Now that I've completed the migration, I'd like to bypass the password entry on login...as I did on W2KPro.

Is that possible in XP-Pro & how to accomplish it...TIA

Go to Start>Run, type control userpasswords2, click OK.

In the window that opens, uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer. "

Click once on the user account you want it to logon automatically to select it, click OK.

In the window that opens, make sure the user account you selected is showing in the top field, enter that account's password (no typos!), click OK.

    That should do it.

If Miz's way doesn't do it for you, you can use TweakUI to do it. If you don't have it, download and install it. You'll find the option for autologon by clicking the plus next to logon.
