    Hi,

I just found the referenced update notification on my taskbar. I checked it and it appears to be for Win 2000 SP4 so I can't imagine why I would need it with Win XP SP2.

The only change to my system is that I finally got broadband.

    Any help will be appreciated.

That update actually applies to all versions of Windows with the Microsoft VM installed. It's generally recommended to not use the MS VM, and furthermore, to uninstall it, then install the Sun Java VM instead. A good tutorial here.

Can you tell me how I can check if I have MSVM on my computer? I know I removed SunJava as it no longer shows in Add|Remove, but I never saw MSVM, that I can remember. I never use IE and have followed the Infinisource document on how to lock it up tightly.

Thanks for the link, which I am going to read now. Thanks.

First thing on that site is where to find MSVM. Ignore the question, please.
