I have many obsolete items which appear as choices in using auto-fill data entry in IE6. Is there any way to 'clean out' these items from IE's database?
    Thanks.

Thanks Pete - I'll look into it... I'm assuming it'll remove data as well as URLs..

I think that is restricted to editing the address bar drop down list.

For more flexibility see this (not used it BTW) ....

If you turn off autocomplete all data will be cleared, but I suspect this is not what you want.

The data is encrypted and generally not editable - apart from typed URL's, so whether or not the URL above is any good I don't know. Although for IE 5 may work with IE 6

Pete - thanks again... as I have now discovered after you pointed me in the right direction, IE6 does indeed have the capability of deleting specific items in the drop down lists containing previous data... IE Help, under the topic of Autocomplete, offers the following tip, and it works... actually one only has to highlight the unwanted data item and DELETE-key it to remove it.....thanks.

"When typing information in Web forms, and typing passwords, you can remove an item from the list of suggestions by clicking the item and then pressing the DELETE key. "

Just shows how often I clear/edit autocomplete and IE 6 was a long time ago :) Anyway glad to hear you achieved your goal.
