Is there any way to replace the Windows XP splash screen that appears on bootup with a picture of my choice?

I was able to do that in Win98, but I can't figure out how to do that in XP.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

There's a site for Windows XP customization which has a walkthrough on how to do this, plus a lot of boot images to choose from and download.

    Just go to ThemeXP.

Just now they seem to be having some problems with their Database, but they are usually available.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that program requires not just a substitute picture but an executable login file -- which I don't have. Apparently changing the login picture is more complex in XP than in Win98, which just required substituting a picture.

    Thanks anyway, though.
