I just can't get it to run with a command window.
When I go directly via the shortcut, it always runs in a command window.
During startup, it runs, makes a list, but doesn't store it.
Here is a list from when things have settled down.

    Hi Ken,

I don't see any glaring cause for this problem. The Security suite itself - PC-cillin - is a suspect because it takes up a lot of your system resources.

You should look up the following startups and see how many of them can be on demand instead of presenst at boot. A the least, disabling them and making them on demand for when they are needed would further reduce your boot time.

    MotiveSB.exe

mm_tray.exe Must go to Musicmatch/Options/Settings/Player/Quick Play in System Tray, and uncheck Enable box to stop it from running. If you just uncheck it in msconfig startup menu it will reappear in the system tray.

DVDLauncher.exe for ease of use with Cyberlink PowerCinema

    MMDiag.exe Another Musicmatch process

    MediaDetect.exe

    OSA.EXE http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/osa.exe.html

    mpbtn.exe

    wdfmgr.exe WMP process

    fxssvc.exe fax service process

This post http://www.windowsbbs.com/showthread.php?t=39425 has links to data bases for looking up the processes running on the system.

    Regards - Charles

I also ran Process Explorer during the churning and it shows at lot of PC-cillin action in short bursts. Musicmatch was also there and many others.
It doesn't seem like anything is broken, so I will have to pick away at it.
Thanks for your patient help; I will get back if I have some detail questions or a major breakthrough.
