At start up my computer goes to a blue screen with the stop message 0x0000007B (0xF7C64524, 0xC00000034, 0x0000000) It suggests I search for a virus or hard disk errors but then I can't go any further. I have made a dos boot disk but scandisk does not recognise the hard disk.
The story leading up to this is that the computer two days ago started to lose usb devices one at a time. First the mouse stopped working then the printer. I did a virus scan overnight and by the morning the keyboard had gone aswell. The next day the machine wouldn't power up. I have removed the hard drive and am currently trying to access it through another machine. I have contacted the antivirus people who redirected me here. Any of this make any sense to anyone?

So did you manage to access the hard drive? If not, the HD may be 'shot'...

    Thanks for replying
No I couldn't access the hard drive, it wasn't recognised and I couldn't start the original computer with another hard drive. Looks like the whole system is up the spout. Can't quite get my head around how an 18 month old machine with firewalls and antivirus software can be taken totally out of commission.
