    Hi

Anyone knows how to change the default icon associated to a document type?

I'm only able to replace icons associated to Program Shortcuts!

    Thanks.

    Hey,

Here's how to do it without third party software...

This is from Windows XP Pro, but I have no doubt the same procedure works on a Home version as well.
    • Open an explorer window, or double click on my computer.
    • Go to the menu item Tools -> Folder Options...
    • Click on the File Types tab.
    • Browse to the file type you want to modify.
    • Click the Advanced button.
    • In the dialog box click Change Icon and browse to the Icon file you wish to use.
      [/list=a]
