My daughter has bought a new computer with Vista installed and I have been trying to get it going for her with varied success! Current problem is that if I click the X in the top right corner of IE7, it closes the window but then I get an error message that "Internet Explorer has stopped working" and it then says it is going to diagnose the problem. I assume that there is a box somewhere that I have to click or unclick to stop this happening. Can any one tell me where it is please?

    God save XP!

    Hi,
Check if there might be a program running that is logged in through IE. It may need to be logged out or stopped before closing IE.

The problem is almost certainly caused by an add-on. If you go to Tools>Manage Add-ons>Enable or Disable Add-ons, then disable them all, you should find that IE7 then closes normally. Then you just have to re-enable them one by one until you find the culprit.
