I recently reinstalled windows xp on my dell inspiron 9300. Everything is going fine and well, apart from scrolling up & down pages in IE & Firefox. The scrolling is very jurky & slow. I have tried enabling & disabling smooth scrolling, but neither made any difference. I have also scanned for problems using Spy-bot, Ad-aware & my anti-virus AVG. Nothing was found, can anyone help me?

Installing newer video card drivers should take care of it.

actually, that's related to the MOBO's AGP drivers. Install them and everything should be alright

    Hi again, timeoutgang. :)

By the way, since you stated you recently reinstalled Windows XP, ...

After clicking the link I provided above, if you discover you do not have your Dell Inspiron 9300 invoice handy for identifying your video card, then download EVEREST Free Edition and double-click the file to extract it to a location of your choice. (I think it is a self-extracting stand-alone application so does not require installation.)

Even if you do have your invoice handy, I still suggest you use EVEREST to verify the invoice information is correct. (Someone might have made a mistake when he/she itemized your hardware information on the invoice.)

    After extracting EVEREST,
    • run everest.exe
    • Click Computer > Summary and wait a moment for the Summary report to populate the window with data
      • Your video card should be identified under the "Display" heading as "Video Adapter ".

Alternatively, you can click EVEREST's Display > GPU and find the information displayed at the top of the information window in the section titled "Device Description ".

Please let us know whether the suggestions given so far have helped you solve your problem or not.

EDIT: I have not yet found a Dell web site link for your motherboard's "AGP drivers" SANAFA mentioned (if your mobo even has "AGP drivers ").

BTW, Hi, SANAFA. Welcome to Windows BBS! :)
