I noticed in the lower right corner of my desktop, there is a message displayed:
    "Windows XP Professional Build
    Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_qfe.070227-2300 (Service Pack 2) "

I'm actually running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002. I don't know where this came from. I didn't notice it right away because it's under several icons that I have placed there. It's very annoying and makes it hard to read the Icon discriptions. I did install a Microsoft update related to my HP All-in-One printer yesterday. Could it be related? How do I get rid of it.

robertld - Welcome to the Board :)

Download Tweakui from MS and click on the General tab - scroll to the bottom of the list presented and uncheck 'Show Windows version on Desktop.

Thanks for the help. It worked. Sorry it took so long to reply. I've been laid up for a couple days.
