Why does my Quick Launch bar dissappear?

Every time I reboot my computer the Quick launch taskbar doesn't launch. I go to start menu properties and find it's unchecked. I recheck it and click apply and it appears until I reboot again. I also tried checking locking the taskbar but upon rebooting I still find the Quick Launch selection unchecked again.
I just started doing this all of a sudden for whatever inexplicable reason.

    Anybody have any ideas?

floyd: I don't have a solution for you, but I've been having the same problem for the past 4 or 5 days. It seemed to follow an issue my DSL ISP (AT&T aka sbcglobal.net) had about a week ago. It disrupted only my e-mail sending at first, then e-mail receiving, then both. Three friends of mine, also using AT&T's DSL service, had similar problems. One of them could send text messages but not images. Just yesterday his problem mysteriously cleared up. Are you by any chance using the same ISP and/or having similar connection problems? It was after I'd reset several settings that my e-mail service started behaving itself but then my Quick Launch Bar started disappearing. My Desktop icons began scambling themselves, too, and I had to open a thread here about that matter. Sorry I can't solve your problem, but I'll follow your posts to see how things work out. Good luck.

    Hello Floyd,

Have you tried a System Restore to just prior to this happening?

Things like this are hard to pin down - something affected Explorer, and an SR may very well fix it.

    Regards - Charles

BOBBO, I haven't had any problem like that but did have my computer lock up with a Dr Watson Debugger error just previous, but then again I have that pretty regularly lately with no apparent ill effects in the past.

Charles, great idea. Don't know why I never thought of that, but unfortunately it didn't work either.

Anybody use Tweak UI? Is there anything in there that might work?
