I went to Start/Programs/Games and dragged several to my desktop, with the aim of putting shortcuts to these games on the desktop. The shortcuts appeared, but several of the game programs now no longer appear on the Start/Programs/Games menu. Is there a way to restore these to this menu? (I hope this isn't too stupid a question.) Thank you.

Drag them back to the Start button and onward to the All Programs menu using the Right button on the mouse. Release them where you want them and you'll get a menu asking whether to Move or Copy them here. Select Copy and you'll be good to go.
